Encouraging youth at all stages to become engaged in and excited about math and science is crucial to our next generations of scientists and engineers. The building of public-private relationships is essential to the transfer of ideas into the marketplace in order to maintain and cultivate our economy. Collaboration across all sectors is the key to productivity of any great magnitude. The Accelerating Innovation Foundation supports such initiatives to explore and enhance an “innovation ecosystem” in the mid-Atlantic region beginning at the grassroots level. It strives to identify local and external assets that may facilitate the building of regional advantage and accelerate innovation.
Founded in 2005 as a regional, nonprofit project, The Accelerating Innovation Foundation is based in Northern Virginia and focused on serving the mid-Atlantic region. We are a tax-exempt, nonprofit currently filing for status as a charitable, 501(c)(3) organization.

Our Mission

The mission of The Accelerating Innovation Foundation is to utilize the mid-Atlantic region's innovation ecosystem of industry, academe, government, and not-for-profits to promote business growth and economic expansion; to aid in the development of new generations of scientists and engineers; and to foster development of 21st century jobs throughout the region. Our mission is realized through supporting leadership and educational forums, outreach programs, and pilot projects beginning at the grassroots level that catalyze innovation on a community specific basis throughout the region.

Partnering

A major focus of the Foundation is the development of dynamic relationships across all sectors among those interested in promoting a regional innovation ecosystem. We welcome all interested parties and organizations. The Foundation is currently supporting a number of significant projects which may provide collaborative opportunities for you or your organization.
